Camp counselors play a vital role in shaping the lives of our campers, fostering deep connections through cabin time, engaging bible studies, fun games, and more. As a counselor, you'll not only impact young lives but also have the chance to strengthen your own faith journey. BAAYF Camp Counselor

What do Camp Counselors do?

  • Lead a Cabin

Counselors will be responsible for their cabin of 5-7 youth throughout the whole camp. From lights out to wake-up calls, counselors will be their guide, ensuring campers not only safe and sound but also having a blast. This includes sleeping in the same cabin as the kids and overseeing their engagement and attendance with the support of dean team.

  • Spiritually Disciple

As spiritual disciplers, our counselors lead by example, guiding kids through Bible study and prayer sessions that deepen their understanding of faith and nurture their spiritual growth. Through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and guided reflections, our counselors create a supportive environment where campers can explore and strengthen their faith journey.

  • Build Relationships

Counselors play the role of mentor and friend, dedicated to nurturing Christ-centered relationships with each and every one of their campers. Counselors have opportunities to build relationships with their campers through camp games and cabin time. Our camp also has the culture of having campers connect with their counselors through one-on-one hang outs during meal or free time.

Counselors are required to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to serve, as well as a heart for serving and mentoring youth. While we especially encourage camp alumni or those with youth ministry experience to join, even those who have never attended camp or served with youth are encouraged to apply!
